Accounting Internship
We are looking for a meticulous and eager-to-learn Accounting Intern to join the finance team of a leading Food-related company that is listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange with over 30 subsidiaries in Asia!
This role is ideal for students seeking real-world exposure to accounting and financial reporting in a group setting. You’ll be supporting our Group Accountant/Senior Accountants on various finance functions and gain hands-on experience with closing processes, audit preparation, tax matters, and more.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Learn how to manage cash inflow by recording customer payments and matching them to invoices
Gain experience in preparing Statements of Accounts (SOAs) and sending payment reminders
Monitor and update overdue accounts like a pro
Perform bank reconciliations for incoming receipts
Issue invoices and credit notes for non-inventory income (e.g. storage charges or salary allocations)
Work closely with the Credit Department to manage delinquent debts
Accounts Payable (AP)
Get hands-on with recording non-inventory expenses (e.g. staff claims, credit card bills)
Prepare payment vouchers and assist in processing bank transactions
Support the implementation of bank platform integration
Reconcile supplier SOAs and follow up on any discrepancies
- Perform bank reconciliations for outgoing payments
- Verify supplier invoices (inventory-related) and assist in the payment approval process
Take part in the end-of-month closing process, just like full-time accountants do
Prepare real journal entries like accruals, loan interest calculations, and foreign currency revaluation
Learn how to check and prepare account schedules—critical for audits and accurate reporting
Export and work with financial reports: Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, General Ledger
Perform Profit & Loss variance analysis—an essential skill for interpreting business performance
Assist in compiling Group Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet figures—yes, real group consolidation!
Support the reconciliation of intercompany transactions—get a feel for how large businesses manage multiple entities
Requirements:
Open to ITE/Polytechnics/University students pursuing an Accountancy or related studies
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Committed to meeting reporting deadlines
