Sales Representative
Company Overview: The company marine engineering and safety service provider supporting the maritime industry. The company specialises in inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of critical marine safety equipment such as lifeboats and davit systems, along with engineering, automation, calibration, and spare parts supply services for vessels.
Role Overview: Looking for a confident and self-driven Sales Representative to support the company’s growth within the maritime and marine services sector. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting the company’s services.
The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, and capable of connecting well with clients through networking and relationship-building. You should be comfortable engaging with industry partners, developing long-term client relationships, and independently driving sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, and maritime • partners.
• Understand client operational needs and recommend suitable marine safety and engineering services.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to strengthen long-term partnerships and repeat business.
Sales & Business Development
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the maritime industry.
• Promote the company’s services including inspection, maintenance, repair, and marine engineering support.
• Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals, and service discussions with prospective clients.
Networking & Market Outreach
• Actively network with industry professionals to expand the company’s customer base.
• Represent the company in client meetings, discussions, and industry engagements.
• Build credibility and trust with potential clients through strong interpersonal engagement.
Sales Coordination
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Coordinate service requirements and timelines with clients and internal teams.
• Maintain records of client interactions, sales opportunities, and follow-ups.
Requirements:
• Prior experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles is preferred.
• Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
• Comfortable communicating with clients and presenting service offerings clearly.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• Confident, personable, and able to connect well with clients.
• Self-driven, proactive, and motivated to achieve sales targets.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with clients.
This role is offered under a 6-month traineeship programme, where you’ll work side-by-side with the team just like a full-time employee. You’ll be fully embedded in day-to-day operations, gaining hands-on experience and direct exposure to how the business runs. Strong performers may be considered for conversion to a permanent full-time role at the end of the programme.
